This zine is about the concept for love letters to the earth project.
Love Letters to the Earth is a contemporary land artwork by conceptual artist Torey Erin installed at The Fargo Project and World Garden Commons in Fargo, North Dakota as part of the Franconia 4Ground Midwest Land Art Biennial. The Love Letters project was a community event where participants shared their personal connections to nature and how they are facing climate grief. They wrote their gratitude, love, devotions, drawings, and sorrows to the Earth on perennial handmade seed paper created with perennials native to the Fargo region. The letters were then planted to create a perennial pollinator garden stemming from connection to emotion, place, and intention. Love Letters to the Earth is a heart practice of actionable sustainability through emotional and physical healing gestures.
